Feeling sad to say that my new Mavic Air crashed on wall while it was Returning to Home point (RTH).
Unfortunately, I don't have DJI care and want this to be fixed or replaced as it looks like RTH function malfunctioned and that resulted in crash.

Please any advise or suggestions would be great on this.

Hello there,

Did you initiate the RTH, or did it auto-initiate due to lack of signal?

If you had an elaborate flight path before you engaged RTH, the RTH would bring the drone back to the home point in a straight line at the altitude set in the GO 4 app if it was below that setting.

If RTH was auto initiated due to loss of signal, the drone would retroactively fly the last 60 seconds of flight in an attempt to regain signal, and if at that point couldn't reach the remote controller, would RTH in a straight line at the preset minimum altitude.

RTH is not fool-proof by any means, and 9/10 times a crash occurs during RTH, it is due to pilot error, not knowing how RTH behaves, or not setting a sufficiently high RTH altitude.

Just wanted to set the expectations here, as when DJI examines the case, they'll look at the flight logs and location of flight, and my instinct tells me this will likely end up with you shouldering the burden of replacement cost.

Obstacle avoidance has been disabled operator commits rth

I do it because ma too far to see by naked eye.
But i can see screen obstacles, huge ala moana la rondes shopping center.

I guess you gotta react cancelling rth for imminent endangerment and use the hansel and grettal map to path home free of obstruct - gotta keep scanning all around viewing camera on screen

Hi There,

RTH function was initiated from the screen to land the drone at landing point.

At what height was your RTH set at, the default 30m is often way too low... 75 to 100m is far better.

Your lack of info makes it hard to figure out what happened, like we’re you within 20 metres of the homepoint , Did you set homepoint above all obstacles on your flight path, just try explaining as much as you can what occurred and if you can upload logs.

unfortunately this sounds like the pilot was unfamiliar with RTH function causing the crash but with out logs its hard to say for sure
