Looks good to me!  Does your DIY solution allow you to slide it closer to your ear, if need be?  Also, if you straighten your arm, does the Osmo compensate for any tilt in your shoulder?

Allmost the same, that i use since about one month, or so!

Oooh, that would work well as a belt strap too... hold it down inconspicuously.

I have the clip one and cannot say I feel that it is secure enough. I plan on ordering this one that was made for the GoPro.

Wouldn't you want the weight of the gimbal to hang DOWN from where it's attached to your backpack strap. Seems like this mount would be top-heavy and bounce around a lot.

In my case, you can mount the OP on what ever position you like, excapt over the buttons for sure, even over the screen!
I mounted it just for the pictures at the almost vers bottom end for showing.
The backpack strap has a rotary part, so you can turn it 360 *, so it is good for a single strap pocket to, as you can adjust it at a correct angle, you would like.
Also you can mount it screen forward, or rearward, or in torch mode position on top of you shoulder, if you like...
