Hi Guys, Want to find out. If i am flying my drone with my phantom 4 pro battery many times while on 10%. Is it safe or will it cause issues with my drone?

If you are taking off with the battery capacity reading only 10%, then you are taking a huge risk. But I am assuming from your question that this is the case?

DJI warn you to never take off with a battery that is not fully charged, for the reason that the indicated capacity is a calculated value, and it can be quite incorrect. Also, experienced flyers stick the the rule to only take off on a fully charged battery.

If you mean start with a fully charged battery and often flying it down to 10% or less, it's probably not a good idea. Once in a while is ok, but from what I read on here it is best to fly down to between 20% and 30%

Well,  I for one would never fly at 10% unless it was a situation beyond my control.
Always take off with a fully charged battery & land by 30%....  That's my idea

Consistently drawing the battery that low is not a good idea. Like they said, 20% is a good time to come home. You also run the risk of u wanted actions should it be a windy day and the drone we're to recognize it does have enough power to continue flight. It may force-land where you don't want it to.

I'm surprised it even starts at that "critical" level.

If she ever auto lands, in a most inconvenient location, I guess it would be a pretty memorable excursion.

Be sure to record the event...

10% battery means its time to land and put in a new fully charged battery.  I think its in the manual

At 10% it lands without your RC input.

Yeah, i concur Randy, even breaking it down to just If i am flying my drone with my phantom 4 pro battery many times while on 10% does not help, it can still mean life of the battery or battery life left in flight...

I am gonna take a punt and think they mean flying it down to 10% on most flights,

The only times i have ever land mine past 30% is when im within 100m for flight practise and i am normally on my way back anyway, i dont think its ever hit 25% except for the times when i am purposefully draining the battery for a deep cycle (dont care on anyone jumping in on the deep cycle debate,  its my choice, not the thread for it either)

That out the way, if you do mean taking it down to 10% during flight then you do risk that 10%  being inaccurate , BUT, having said that, in my opinion, draining it that far each charge can only help its health status because its getting a decent full charge most of the time anyway, my self, i would want to be back at the home point shortly before or just after my alert for 30%.....

Come to Alberta, and we can certainly have a lively discussion about oil, and transcontinental pipelines...

Build that pipeline, build that pipeline!! Now rinse and repeat. Haha
