• Power on the remote controller.
• Go to "System Settings"
• Tap "Language & Input"
• Tap "Android Keyboard" or what is the current keyboard you are using.
• Uncheck the "Next-word" suggestions.
• Tap "Auto-correction" and set it to "Off"
• Tap "Show correction suggestions" and set it to always hide.
  

DJI Tech Support has been notified and is aware of this fix.

Originally found a work around that involved letter entry / then backspace / ... rinse / repeat, etc.  That was a pain and tricky to get right.
Then got a work around from tech support but they had "Uncheck the 'Next-word' suggestions" as the last step.
Found their instructions didn't work unless that was moved to the first step.
That corrects this issue. Tech support's been notified.
Hopefully that will help the next person and/or go into the next firmware update.
