Did DJI remove the reference to polar areas in the manuals?

In the manual of all its products from the Phantom to the M200, it was written that the drones could not be used in P-mode in polar regions.
Now I only find this reference in the manual of the Mavic. Does that mean that DJI is now confident that its drones will neither spiral like crazy nor fly away at high altitudes?

You can fly in these regions if you know how to fly in ATTI mode.

Here the wording from the M2E manual:

and here from the M200 v2 manual:

Usually very cold, long nights, white bears may keep you locked in outhouse for hours ...

Thanks, nothing new then. For some reasons a search of "polar" in the pdf files had not returned any result (except  in the mavic manual)...

Hi ukaleq, we still have this reference in the User Manual in page 59 as Keule posted in 2#. The GPS and compass will not work in Polar regions, we do not recommend to fly in these areas for the safety concern if the customers are not familiar with the  A mode. Thanks for your understanding.

DJI Mindy-

What latitude does DJI consider "polar"?

Thanks!

Hi patiam, sorry that we are unable to provide a specific latitude range, the nearer to the North/South Pole, the more the compass will get affected by the magnetic field. Hope for you understanding.

Thanks DJI-Mindy.

It would be helpful if DJI could be more specific. While "the further north or south you go the worse it gets" is likely true, what users need is an unambiguous statement that the system can not perform according to specified tolerances beyond XX degrees N or S Latitude.

I have verified with our engineers, there is no specific latitude can be provided, when flying near the Noth/South Pole, if the compass is not working, please do not keep flying for the safety concern. Thank you.

not. getting. it.

professional equipment developers and manufacturers publish specified tolerances, and guidelines regarding the limits within which those tolerances can be expected. this way users can be assured that if they stay within those limits, they should enjoy the performance that was promised. it may be the case that one can even go beyond those limits, but because they are conservative, 95% of the time (or some other defined standard) staying within them guarantees the system will achieve stated accuracy/precision.

but i'm done beating this dead horse. it's clear the company line is "it works until it doesn't. if it's not working, don't use it"...

completely agree, there needs to be a set standard. An engineer who works with the code should be able to answer this question but good luck getting through the 40 people blocking your communication with the engineer
