Clear water plunges from the icy heights of the truncated summit of Mt. St. Helens down into the grand gorge of Lava Canyon. The (confusingly named) Muddy River tumbles here over fall after fall, over , over, through, and past magnificent basalt rock formations. The trail too weaves through these pillars and gullies, never far from the low roar of the powerful waterfalls that haunt the depths of the canyon.
I filmed this video back in 2016 with the original Osmo - I've been working through my backlog of unfinished projects, and this is one of the gems I dug up. I have more footage from a second hike I took that same day, which I plan on putting together in the near future.
