I've read a few horror stories about china and drones, so I’m worried about customs in China…
This month, I'm going on a trip to see family in the states and would like to bring my drone along with me. I have a layover in Guangzhou China, I thought its only a layover so it should be fine. However I read this blog saying she was flagged and on the way back all her batteries had gotten taken.. Link here: https://airplanesandavocados.com/nightmare-beijing-airport/
I'm a bit worried as I do plan on buying some equipment while I'm in the states, i.e projectors, electronics, etc. and don't want to be flagged for my trip back and have things go missing. What are your guys thoughts on the matter? Should I not risk it and leave the drone at home?

Also I even called China Southern and they said they have no restrictions on the matter but then again couldn't be sure of customs and security.

Hello Jazhorse, thanks for reaching out. I understand that you wanted to bring your drone in China. I would suggest you contact directly  the local authority, groundhandler staff and the airlines customer service to know all the rules and regulations on this matter. Also, I would like to suggest that you search the drone regulations of the countries that you are going to, please click the link for further info: http://www.dji.com/flysafe If you need further help, please don't hesitate to contact us. Thanks for your support.
