Hello, I'm planning to buy a Mavic 2 in the next month, but I have a question.

Is it possible to use a Crystal Sky to update a drone, theirs battery and the remote controller ?
Or do I need to always have a computer or a laptop with me ?

Hi, thanks for the inquiry. Yes, you could update the firmware using the DJI GO 4 app on the crystal sky and the DJI Assistant 2. Please let us know if you have other concerns. Thank you for continued support.  

But it will probably say firmware update failure. I had this twice. And i believe there were some reports of other people too. So i updated via assistent and pc.

LOL A DJI Admin that's never used their own products ...Forget it ..it wont work. Firmware updates haven't worked on the CS or Android since the Mavic 2 was released, there loads of posts about it. Yet it remains unfixed. We've been waiting 2 months already just for the Waypoints on the CS for Mavic 2.

It has worked for me every time so far. For the batteries, if you have more than one, they will need to be updated separately. The first time a not updated battery is inserted and the drone is booted up the system will complain about "inconsistent firmware" and update the battery but its usually only a couple of minutes per battery. Happy flying.

Well, I see the answer are quite mixed.
And I see there are several topic about problems with the CS on this forum.

So I think I'll better use a laptop to update the drone.

Updates using CS have always worked fine for me too.
