Spent three mornings on the lower icefall of the Mendenhall Glacier attempting to film myself with the Mavic Air with about a 60% success rate in trace mode.  When I mention that success rate, part of the failures were due to shots I just didn't like, and part from slow drone tracking, or failure to track.  Regardless, it was fun, but it would be nice to have a ski model, and not film myself.

That can't have been easy, still you did a great job, scene at 2:15 is cool. Thanks for sharing

Wow this is close to insane Impressive footage of you on that glacier! I wouldn't dare to climb it up and there is no way I would ski it downhill ... And on top you had to take care for your drone - Respect!!!

That clip was reversed for the video.  I carefully flew down into it where I had "line of sight" for the controller signal, then I flew straight out and spiraled.  The clip was also increased in speed in post.

Yes, alone.  

Amazing footage, very nice to see, it's hard to track someone in snow, you have to wear a good colored jacket.A good alternative is Litchi software , which can track(follow mode) the mobil device on gps instead of active track video.
