For "standard" videos I don't need an external mic!
For excellent sound - f.e. concert etc. I only have to sync ... less than numbers of my fingers.
DJI audio adapter is expensive, but not soooooo "The Big Hit"

More bulky than an adapter and a Movo VXR10 and $39 is nothingl considering that I bought like $500  of ND filters, light and other accessories for the OP already.

it's AGPTEK A11 - now not available at amazon.de, but there a lot of similar voice recorders,
all of course stereo and with 1536 kbps. Endless selection with aliexpress.com

In Powerdirector 17 it take's about 3.5 seconds.

Theeeen you MUST have a DJI audio adapter!

Syncing audio to sound is easy as long as you have a clap/sync POP at the start of each take.

If you dont, then place the audio on the timeline and look for a spike  in the audio waveform—this can be your sync POP. Then match it (this ASSumes you have sound being recorded from the OP’s built-in mic)

There is a program called pluraleyes that does this automatically. It’s not free but it will sync audio to smaller clips within seconds, and it will detect drift and correct.

A DAC converts a Digital signal to an Analog signal.  The DJI adapter wants to do just the opposite going from Analog to Digital.
