Never a swelling issue with quality batteries here. I fly more than 90 percent of the folks on here with all forms of RC as an avid enthusiast and instructor for over 30 years. I've now had (3) Mavic 2 Pro batteries start to swell, all discharged properly and under 50 flights ea. that to me it's unacceptable for DJI. No swelling in any of my Mavic Pro, phantom or inspire batteries... ever. Lots of RC guys run low quality batteries to save a few bucks and we see huge difference in a high quality balanced cell LIPOs. These were not the same quality IMO. DJI must have used a new vendor and it shows. I won't bother fighting to get new packs DJI customer service outside warranty. They just don’t seem to go beyond customer expectations from what I’ve experienced over the years. It's hardly worth all the aggravation when in warranty so I won't bother but bought some of their competitions rigs lately. When they swell in flight, the battery pushes up and unlocks the battery and can case a loss of power. SO upon inspection (mainly see it after a flight) if you see the bottom swell at all, discharge and safely dispose of them. Keep posting so DJI improves the quality again and possibly goes on record helping customers with discount on replacements.
The video saying they will burst in flames if they swell is kind of BS, sure you can find video on YouTube but it's uncommon in the real world. Explosions into a ball of fire are caused from over charging or puncture of a fully charged pack. Flying a unbalanced swollen pack will most likely cause a battery to flag a unbalanced error, faster discharge and early landing with little warning or cause a disconnect and crash. I'm not saying it is safe to use them, and agree they should be disposed of, but don't believe everything on YouTube for 100% fact.
