Here is another solution.

With the exception of the Selfie Stick which i bought on ebay (which can also be found on amazon ), I found all of these products on Amazon.

you can rotate the rosette mount so the phone is on the other side of the pole. the rosette mount is more robust of a mount.
the gimbal itself can be screwed all fiurther down the 1/4 20 screw. you can also use the attachemt off a magic arm to "cinch" it up with. ive used this setup many times already and its lightweight and works for me, so thought to share with the class.
