Hallo to everybody, does anybody know whether it is possible to pilot the Spark by the DJI RC, and a smartphone with no SIM Card inside? Thank for support  

Yes, I do that with an iPhone SE.  No SIM card.  Works great.

You may operate your DJI Spark with or without a SIM the only real difference that you need to be aware of is you will want to cache the maps of where you will fly your DJI Spark before hand and then you can fly the drone without SIM card. If the phone is on a Wi-Fi network, won't the map be updated?

Is there a way to manually update maps for a specific area?

Yes, you can download offline maps for any given area via WiFi even before actually going out to fly there. This way you don't need an active SIM card on your mobile device to get maps. I do this all the time.

Hi,

One should always turn off mobile services (internet and calls/SMS) while you fly your drone. It helps reducing interference a lot.

Of course it works..... and it works even better than with the SIM.
Also, no risk of accidental phone call in the middle of the flight.

I fly w/ the cable attached and Airplane mode.
