I know we don't have zoom capability but there definitely is enlarging (zoom) when you go from photo to video.  So my questions are the following:
1)  If you take a single video frame capture from a video clip, how does that file size differ from a single photo of the same subject (in otherword, which would have the best quality/most pixels)???
2)  If you then cropped the single photo to create a photo which looked exactly like the single video frame capture (in otherwords the cropping created a zoomed in/enlarged picture), how would the file size compare (which would have the best quality/most pixels)???

My thoughts are that a single photo will be better quality/higher resolution/larger file size than a single video frame capture...but after cropping the single photo to match the enlarged/magnified single video frame capture you might end up with about the same quality picture.

You shoot photo in 4K resolution with JPG compression and video in 1080p resolution with H.264 compression. You simply  can't compare these parameters.

There is no "zoom", it only looks like that, till the pictures are 4000x3000ish, but the video is just a cropped 1920x1080 OUT of the full frame.
And the Display switches from a 4k "show" to this FHD view.
Thats all

I would say from full sensor, not full frame.... Full frame usually means sensor of the size of classic 35mm film.

photo uses the full sensor to take the image which is 4k
video zooms in a bit to use the remaining part of the sensor for 3rd axis and you get 1920x1080p
i always saw the pictures more clear
tho they should look like the vid frame iif zoommed but the video may have compression so it will look always less clear when zoomed into the video rather then the photo

Okay...did a little experimenting.  First photo will be the original 4:3 jpg....file size 1.99 mb.   The second photo is the first cropped to 16:9 and identical to the video frame capture of the third photo.  The second photo (cropped first photo) was jpg and file size 449 kb.  The third photo (video frame capture) was png (png was the only way my software captures frames) and 1.00 mb.  So the frame capture file size was twice the cropped photo...BUT I think the quality of the cropped jpg is much better than the frame captured png.

When you zoom in the second is sharper than the third.
