Here are the Official Ryze release notes, it does not really explain what has been done to improve flight performance.
Maybe Ryze can help us here and explain what the changes are?

Appreciate your update here. It is the flight controlled system which is Optimized to improve the stability of the drone.

I have a defect which has occurred since a recent firmware update.
I have tried to update the firmware again today so now it is at the latest version.
I have also updated the app and this is at the latest version.
I have reset the drone while holding power button for 5 seconds.
I have recalibrated the IMU.
I have recalibrated the gravity.
I have tried another phone in case the phone is the problem all to no avail.
The problem only seems to occur when the drone is warm, OK when cold.
Please see the video in the attached link for evidence of failure mode.
The drone starts to rotate anti clockwise by itself even when hovering.
If control yaw is moved it stops, but most times it starts rotating again by itself again soon after.
Your help would be appreciated as this drone was fine before firmware update
