There are so many of us here from across different parts of the world, places that we may not get a chance to visit in person, so how about we share a photo or video of our home town / city / village or place that we call home?
I'll start, I live in Wymondham, Norfolk, UK. It's a market Town with a lot of history, in 1549, a local man led a rebellion that defeated the King's Army...
The building in the centre with the unusual shaoed roof is called the Market Cross and parts date from 1616. The Abbey (you've seen lots of my photos of this, is in the top).
ChrisJG - Like your idea, it often disappoints me when I see an interesting video, but no hint at what part of the world it is. When I get to where I can do at least a fair video of my area, I will come back and post it. Thank you and like the photo.

Thank you, look forward to seeing your work. I’ve yet to tackle video in a meaningful way; it’s another level of skills I think to be even half decent.

ChrisJG - sounds kike we are alike, I have only had the time to fly my MPP about ten short times, we've had some rain on and off - which we need. And other things on that unending list of things to do, snatching away the time

I’ll drink to that! It’s coming towards the end of the Astronomy season, and now the short, light nights begin. So many things to see and film, so little time. Cannot take my Mavic to Santorini as they are now banned. Camera and small telescope it is then!
Good luck,
Chris

Thank you, not as secluded and peaceful as your pano recently, but beats living in the city I think.
True, but for most of the year I stay and work in one of the largest cities in South Africa. We spend lots of holidays etc at the beach cottage. And hopefully, we would retire there in 5 years or so......
So, for now, running the rat race.
Will try to post a image of some of Pretoria, but it would definitely not be as nice and peaceful......
Sure I can share a video of a part of the beach of my town with Santi Petri Island and Castle and a little bit of its history
This coastal arrow, located in the municipality of San Fernando, Cádiz (Spain), is a line of virgin dunes, emerging from the Atlantic in front of the Marshes of Sancti Petri. Together with the undoubted landscape value of the surroundings, dominated by pipes, islets and sea of the Guadalete estuary, this Natural Monument is another example of the complex formation of the coast of Cadiz.
The area, famous for its beaches and marshes, is the result of the last geological episodes in the region, when sedimentation was filling the estuary. Afterwards, the waves over the sediments formed barriers such as the Boquerón, which enclosed the marshes and accentuated their loss of depth. The subsequent offshore retreat emerged this coastal arrow, with the wind and tide who finished modeling the current landscape.
This castle, located on an island at the mouth of the Caño de Sancti-Petri, is historically linked to one of the most important and famous temples of antiquity: the Temple of Melqart-Hercules.
According to the historiography, in this temple was buried Hercules, mythical founder of Cádiz, who arrived to perform one of his twelve works: the theft of the bulls of King Gerión de Tartessos, which he killed during the performance of the feat. In addition to the remains of Hercules, the Heraklion contained important relics, such as the Teucro belt or the Pygmalion tree.
His fame spread throughout the Mediterranean and numerous classical writers such as Strabo, Philostratus and Posidonius narrate the visit of illustrious figures, such as Amílcar Barca, Aníbal or Julio César; being this temple where Hannibal offered the god his vows before undertaking the conquest of Italy or where Julius Caesar wept before the statue of Alexander the Great, because, at thirty-two years, had not yet reached the glory of the Macedonian.

That's an awesome video, congratulations.
Thank you for sharing it and the history lesson too, that's excellent. You are very fortunate to have such a great area to fly and film over.
