i have a new FAA registered Spark that I’m thinking of selling.  If I do, do I contact FAA and cancel my registration so the new owner can register it?

The pilot is the one who is registered, not the spark. No worries.

Yes - what Sayhelloforme said - when the new owner registers the drone and gets a new reg. number he/she just puts the new number on the drone.  If you get a new drone you would use your old number.  The number is for the owner, not the drone.
