Could not get close enough to the waters edge at this location to see just how much clearance there was between the water and the bridge, so not today!
Also for UK fliers; take care at this location (IP19 8RT) - for most of the time I was flying my Air, someone was firing a shotgun, regularly; the shooting stopped when I landed.

Am examining frame by frame the panoramics I took to see if there's a frame of someone firing a weapon.

No, because I cannot in the individual frames see anyone...so no evidence / proof....yet...Have shared the big MB pano with a UK Facebook group who are looking now.

Quite possibly, but with a shotgun? Target shooting here outside of a licensed range, is usually with man air rifle either a .22 or .177 small gauge. The shots I heard, were not air rifle made.

Does the UK have a law like 18 U.S. Code § 32. Destruction of aircraft or aircraft facilities? Cause if that guy downed your drone, it could cost them.

I would still have reported it to the Police, they take the discharge of firearms seriously and if anything a police presence/patrol would keep the area clear of nut jobs with firearms by making them think twice. Hope you get back into the sky and finish your flight in a future visit.

That said, be wary it can occur. Take evasive go home?

I often hear shot guns around farm land areas where it's legal to shoot - just keep the drone high and don't hover. Discharging a firearm in a public area is a very serious offence here - I'd report to the Police if I were you. Nice capture by the way

I don't know the exact law for firing weapons in the UK; small arms and shotguns are licensed though.
