There's no way they are holding a press conference for just a silly little waterproof case.  That would be an insane letdown.  Thus far, DJI has only really released some pretty big products during press events.  
I'm really really really really REALLY hoping for an underwater drone capable of controlling it's buoyancy and or even something with auto follow.  This would be epic and definitely not that far fetched for DJI to engineer.  I'd buy this product in a heartbeat.

Hopefully they are going to present us with more than just 1 surprise.....here’s to hoping anyway

A presser for a single waterproof action camera would be very disappointing, but maybe I need a break from more DJI things. My wallet cannot take it anymore.

That would be awesome if it was an underwater drone that follows you like your personal photographer

a 360 camera would be awesome especially if they have the software to automatically omit the actual remove the drone from the footage to save time in post!
If its this I'm in just bought a  GOPto fusion to do 360 drone footage.

The picture could be a red herring and they have developed a camera that can see dead people from the other side! I think the phrase otherside could mean 360 which is a good spot! Its the water that's confusing, under water filming isnt all that easy either as there is a fair bit of movement so getting great footage is tricky.

That would be great, I think this what most people are saying it will be, I have heard many rumours, screen on back and a small screen on front for vlogging selfies etc , I also hear it will be priced at €399, we shall see .

My guess, waterproof 360 action camera with gimbal AND a waterproof Mavic Air 2
It would be cool to have a underwater drone, but not many use cases unless they add lots of lights, sonar, AI.... ;)
And a micro nuclear reactor to power it... ;)

This would be great, but I highly doubt we'll see the 1" sensor or D-DLOG.  I would bet it will be the same 12MP 1/2.3" sensor as is in the Osmo Pocket and with very similar specs and interface.  I would guess it will have a much wider field of view compared to the Pocket though.

I think the biggest question is whether it will have good enough electronic stabilization to match or exceed the competition?  I hope it does.

From my perspective, its a great move for DJI.  I'm guessing a lot of the internals and software development will have been shared with the Osmo Pocket, so it will allow for them for another revenue stream off of that existing R&D they've invested.

You are right about phones taking incredible images, but I think people use action cameras in many situations they just don't want to risk it with their phone.  My phone is my daily life camera for random photos and videos, but I go to my Hero7 for a ton of situations I just wouldn't want to put my phone into.

And who knows maybe they will release two products this time!
