i was expecting the price to go down considering the screen is so small and it's at the bottom. Well this is good news for those who paid $650 with no tax to boot. like me!

The ‘price’ for having Donald in charge I guess!  Not that we can laugh, when he have the Charlie Fox that is Brexit and the madness that goes along with that.  For the other Europeans here, sorry, Farage and his views are not representative of many that I know.

A lot of myopic folks here.  For decades the U.S. has tolerated a country blatantly stealing trade secrets & intellectual property, overt theft & profiting from illegally cloning products, decimation of the US manufacturing workforce, manipulation of its currency, all subsidized & supported by a Communist government.  But hey, as long as it's not your property or job that's affected, & you continue to get your fix of cheap toys, it's all good!  Orange man bad!

Then there's that fella who doesn't seem to know anyone who voted for BREXIT, even though a majority of Brits voted to leave the EU & get out from under the reigns of unelected bureaucrats in Brussels.  Perhaps it's a sign to get out more?
Meh, we’re all commies flying these drones. Amirite?  And as an OTR trucker, it all effects me.  Including slow freight right now.

DJI, Apple, etc, etc and so forth will move all manufacturing back to the US.  Of course, they will also demand wages of $1.00 to 2.00 per hour.  But those dastardly unions will demand at least 3 or 4 per hour.

We have 1/3rd their population yet more than twice their GDP.  You can make all the cheap stuff you want but you need a market to sell the stuff.  No other market on earth approaches the USA.  Lots of countries will be happy to step up to manufacture goods should it continue along the current path.  Problem is folks are so used to complacency & addicted to dirt cheap goods they have a hard time looking at the big picture

People buy cheap goods because that's how they make their money stretch.  The companies selling the "CHEAP" goods are making a killing off of it.  The majority of goods are disposable (last a couple of years at best).  Would you rather pay more for something that will need to be replaced in that short amount of time?

I saw where you stated short term pain for long term gain... a lot of people's short term pain could alter their life for good.. Farmers going bankrupt because they cannot sell their soybeans..

China is strategically countering by placing tariffs on good produced by specific regions in our country.. Orange man is out of his league

Chinese prices are artificially low, in part due to some of the factors I pointed out.  Ultimately the goal is to apply pressure to the Chinese government to end these practices at which point the tariffs will end.  Short term pain for long term gain.  A side benefit is less chance of imported children's toys with lead paint or food products (human & pet) with toxic contaminants.  Trump has the winning hand & he is the first President to have the stones to stand up to China, just as he has done with the leaches at the United Nations & NATO.  They need our market more than we need their products.

If your country is importing goods not fit for humans toxic or poisonous, this says much more about your country allowing these goods in , surely you have standards that protect your citizens, really Americans are importing toxic children’s toys for their own children .

Exactly, that's the problem, Orange man loves to fudge but when you mess around and start affecting markets and China calls your bluff, you hurt your own consumers and the exporters at the same time.

You can do that in the real estate work but you are dealing with global markets now.  Can't bluff all the time  SMH

They don't import their goods with signs saying "finished with illegal lead-based paint" or "contaminated with poisonous ethylene glycol".  Sadly these things are discovered after the fact when kids become ill or people & pets start dying.  Seeing you have great concern for safety & accountability,  what are your thoughts on countries that permit the import of people who openly declare their desire to take over the indigenous population & kill those who resist?  What does it say about the leaders of countries who care so little about the citizens (subjects in your case) they represent that they willfully permit entry by such individuals??

You know there are no reports from Europe regarding the toxic toys the poisoning of animals, so either one of two things, Europe has in place much more stringent checks for such things, or you are getting some very spurious information.
We all grew up on the toxic toys , but that was before regulation which has by and large wiped out the dangers of this happening again, except maybe in the US.

It’s also a bit rich of you to ask my opinion without explaining your own , you seem to have real difficulties with what you are saying the Chinese are doing, and that’s great on one hand, but on the other hand you have no problem supporting this countries manufacturers buying their goods and in turn paying into the system you seem to despise.

You know as much as you can say how other countries manage their affairs, it would also be said far and wide around the world that the US is no perfect cup of tea, we see the total devastation in Iraq because the US told the world that Iraq had nuclear capability, Not True many innocent died,

We see America laugh in the face of Kyoto, your president insisting that the rest of the world was out of tune while he was the only one singing in tune.
Yes your entitled to your opinion , but people in glass houses and all that, but to insult with hatred and then support I’m not sure about that .

A couple months ago Samsung released the Galaxy S10 lineup.  You can already buy a cheap Chinese knockoff for 1/10th the price.   If you are a Samsung investor or employee how does it benefit you to have your product stolen?  If you are a music group, film/multimedia company, or just a small company selling a copyrighted niche product, how do you benefit by having the Chinese government complacent in the theft of your property?  The Chinese government allows this sort of theft in every sector.   Buy a memory card or a battery from Ebay or Amazon & there is a good chance you'll get a cheap price on an inferior counterfeit product with deceitful specs.  How do you benefit from cheap prices if your job is lost due to the theft of products by Chinese companies?  I am excluding DJI in this statement because their products are actually innovative & leading edge but were I to say what the Chinese are best at it's theft & mimicry.  You could take the just-released One+ 7 Pro to one of countless small shops in Shenzhen & in short order they will steal/produce a cheap knockoff.  People travel to Shenzhen just to buy cheap ripoff goods!  This theft has gone on for years while politicians turned a blind eye.  Who has been talking about it for decades?  Trump!

https://youtu.be/fHAI05zA0DU

You live in a country where it’s illegal to buy knock off goods, yet the world’s biggest supporter of this deception and their insatiable appetite for these goods is the US.

I suppose you accept no responsibility for this, if their was no customer there would be no need for the manufacturing of these goods you talk about, in fact the western world are the biggest consumers of these goods , they are also well ensconced in China using the availability of cheap labor to manufacture the other goods that the people of the western world so heavily desire.

We are all responsible for what happens in this world, except the great Donald Trump who decided the rest of the world were not singing from his hymn sheet so he decided to accept no responsibility for the planet we all share on behalf of the American people .

Nobody is without their problems here .

No country is perfect, & no one alleged Iraq had nuclear weapons (you conflate Iraq & Iran).  Iraq was said to have WMDs (particularly weaponized gasses) & all the world's major intelligence agencies agreed.  Iraq hampered & evaded agreed upon inspections for more than a decade.  If they had nothing to hide it turns out to have been an extremely foolish decision.

Kyoto was a joke & just another money grab into US taxpayer pockets from the EU & 3rd world nations.  The US could have zero emissions & it matters not if 3/4 of the planet is polluting as usual.  You buy into man-made climate change rubbish too?  Captain Planet is a cartoon, dude!  Don't fret it though, it'll be all over in 12 years (maybe sooner if your guests step up the breeding!).  Ice caps gone, half the land underwater,  millions starving.  Oh wait that was supposed to happen in 2000...

Ok I think we should refer to you now as Dirty Donald Bird , there is a whole world out there that doesn’t agree with you, and I think your unrelenting support for Chinese drones shows you don’t really believe yourself.

Remember the world is quite aware where FAKE NEWS originated.

So how is this price increase exactly helping the US?

Allows U.S. companies to compete against foreign companies that:
- are subsidized by their own government
- have lax manufacturing safety standards
- pay much lower wages
- do not have to deal with U.S. EPA
- aren't burden with bureaucratic Red-tape at all levels
- don't have to provide or subsidize Health Care

I am very clear & consistent in what I am saying.  You just appear particularly inept in your ability to comprehend.   Perhaps your ignorance of Chinese product issues is due to the willingness of your chosen media sources to report unpleasant, politically incorrect, yet accurate accounts of these situations, much as they refrain from reporting the behavior of your invited guests who are busy culling the locals with knives & vehicles, burning churches, participating in rape gangs, setting up Sharia Councils &  no go zones in preparation for the culling of the indigenous peoples?  Maybe the coppers had a little chat with your reporters to suggest they not be too offensive?

Numerous issues with Chinese goods.  Lead paint on kid's toys  CEO committed suicide), tainted pet food killed/injured hundreds of pets, China even executed the head of its food & drug agency for taking bribes to allow toxic substances in juices sold here.  Please Google "Chinese product issues" & educate yourself

You just appear particularly inept in your ability to comprehend.

Can only think of one reason why U.S. raising tariffs on goods coming into U.S. would cause DJI to raise prices it's pricing in other countries - U.S. sales was helping to subsidize lower prices of DJI products sold to other countries.
Restated, Do less profit margin on U.S. sales, DJI chose to increase profit margins outside U.S.

Property rights are the basis for any functional civilized society.  The sale of counterfeit Chinese goods is a major issue here.   Not that people want them it's they are hard to avoid even when buying on Amazon.  The deception by unscrupulous Chinese merchants who have adopted a "take it, fake it, make it" philosophy is my personal responsibility.

The USA accounts for 335 million people out of 7.6 billion currently inhabiting the planet.  We account for less than 5% of the population & have already made massive strides in curbing emissions.  We aren't responsible for the entire planet.  Lose the chip & take responsibility for yourself.  If you want to do your part for Mother Earth the only sure way is to off yourself. Zero emissions once the corpse rots.  Then again you only have 12 years left before the end so may as well party it up!

Oh, come on - many of those manufacturers contract with US companies including First Daughter Trump.

The tariffs will probably end when there's an agreement for a Trump Tower in Beijing.  He's still aiming for the one in Moscow.  No, Putin swears that they never interfered or tried interfering in the 2016 election.
