Hello all,

On my Mavic 2 PRO, if I save the original panorama in DNG instead of JPEG, it looks like the image are distored. ( in fact it even looks like the first one is OK, but the next one are distorded ) like the lens correction is not present in the DNG.

Can anyone reproduce the problem or knows how I could check if the lens correction information is present in the DNG ?

Thank you in advance

Hi, never noticed something like that with my Mavic 2 Pro.
Lightroom finds and uses the lens profile every time ...

Thanks Tom.

I wonder what’s wrong with mine then.

Here is a link to a Google drive https://drive.google.com/drive/f ... tJCWSco?usp=sharing

In the ' Single shot ' folder, you can see a few DNG made by shooting, well, single shot
These are all fine.

In the ' Panorama ' folder, DNG created when saving each frame of a panorama in DNG instead of JPEG
You should see lens distortion on most of them when opening the DNG ( clicking on them in Google drive seems to just display the included Jpeg )
So you will have to downlooad the files first.

Thanks again

Okay, downloaded and imported the files into Lightroom.
For a split second I was able to catch a glimpse of what you mean - the horizon was curved - but when lightroom generated the previews finally everything was fine. Also the panorama looks good ....

Well, then I guess it is my photo editor that is action up ( Cymbeline photodirector )
But I wonder why I don’t have the distorsion on the single shot picture ....

Thank you for trying

Well, It looks like I have the same problem with "Raw Therapee"...

Also, if was  the editing software, shouldn't the DNG taken from single shot should also show the distortion ?
The most 'bizarre' thing, is that not all  the pictures from the panorama set show the distortion.

Lens distortion correction is baked into the DNG file.
However, some photo editors are buggy and only half implement the DNG standard so dont see/apply this.
Ultimately its an issue with your choice of raw editor and not the drone itself.

Thank you for your comment.

While I do not disagree with you, I am wondering why it is working for some pictures, and not for others.
Since the transformation is the same for all pictures, I would expect to have success or failures for all pictures, and that is not the case.

File structure.  Its quite probably only set up to access for certain dimension photos and certain corrections and isnt seeing ot ignoring extra data for non standard images (panos etc).

Its a fairly common problem, a lot of editors (free and some paid) dont fully interpret the DNG standard (which is fairly inforgivable since its open sourced)

As it has been said previously, most likely you're dealing with the incorrect interpretation of the DNG files. Bring them into LR or Bridge, or directly into PS, and you should be good.
