Good stuff, yeah I ordered the PolarPro NDPL filters, the fun part will be to know which ones to use and when (early morning vs noon, etc). I've heard that twice the frame rate is your shutter, adjusting the aperture to around 4 to 9, and aiming for ISO 100 to reduce noise (only raising it if the aperture goes below 4). I have Zebra turned on and will use it only blowing out highlights when it's unavoidable (sun reflection etc).
If I can get footage even one tenth of what you're producing, I will be ecstatic.
You'll be fine, practise is what it's all about. Start in a contained area and get good at that first. With the NDs, say on a sunny day, the main thing is to remember you will change them much quicker in the first and last hour of the day. So ND 4 might be for the first half hour, then ND 8 for the next half hour, you might then be able to use ND 16 all day long. Here in the desert we need to go to ND32 between about 10 and 2 though. |
