If everything w/ the colors are matched identically and everything else looks-wise, is the image detail quality higher with RAW than JPG?  Does RAW contain more "metadata" than JPG and that is the only reason?  Like you can bring up the underexposed that would have been lost in JPG and you can correct the overexposed a bit more than JPG in Post?

Are you aware that JPEG, by definition, is a lossy format?

So JPEG has worse details?  No wonder my PNC shot wasn't too good.  I forgot to take it off JPG and put RAW after using Dronedeploy!

RAW will use up a lot more space and take longer to process, try doing a 360 pano in jpg, then try again in raw.  But, at least with raw there is a lot more data to play with when it comes to editing, always worth shooting in raw and jpg, if the jpg is good enough for what you want then it can save some editing time, more so if you have many images....

RAW in the Sony A7 uses way more storage than JPG.

Yes. But RAW will look similar to unprocessed D-Log ... flat until post processed.

These days, processors have advanced and many good cameras shoot impressive Jpeg's.

I would argue that for most Jpeg is the way to go if using a high quality cam. File sizes are considerably smaller too and you can of course adjust pre shot parameters/settings in Jpeg.

Then there is the issue of RAW converter and editing programme quality. They are not all created equally.

Add the time and skill needed. There is just as much potential, more probably, to mess things up in raw.

Unless you know what you're doing or shoot client material I'd personally stick to Jpeg unless the camera processing is really bad.

I mean, you can shoot in RAW with DroneDeploy but the settings are not automatic so you risk having the shots messed up somehow and not look good.  Then you would have to post-process 200+ images yourself.  Blurred images, overexposed, underexposed become a thing when not in automatic JPG mode.

Look at this.

In lightroom and other software, you can add a preset that can be added to multiple images.
