The first time flying with the SC on a sunny day the screen was not bright enough. Pulling down the top menu showed the brightness slider needed to be moved right to the brightest level. If sky is overcast the brightness can be reduced to save power on the SC.

So, when you moved the bright slider to the maximum, was the display bright enough???

Yes, plenty bright. No annoying hood is necessary.

This is a good suggestion and I will test it out. I don't believe it was initially on Auto (or Auto was not working) as I'd never adjusted the screen brightness until needing to in bright sun.
