I bought from them.  After 7 days they sent 01/2019 and 03/2019 batteries!!  Genuine DJI batteries.  The fake batteries have wide pins, green, and one wasn't even built properly as the plastic wasn't put together right.

I got my drone from here.  Met the seller in real-life, swapped me when I had an issue with Compass 2 disconnected.  He is legit. Swapped my 04/2018 to an unopened 07/2018 mfg date w/ no issues.

I came from the Mavic 2 Zoom and Spark.  The link is as solid as the Mavic 2 Zoom.  C4K60.  Full 1" Mechanical shutter, no distortion compared to the Mavic 2 Pro that does Not use all of the 1" sensor and has No mechanical shutter.  Very reliable performance unlike hearing the TB50 Inspire 2 batteries cutting out mid flight and them having camera issues.  You can backpack this drone like I did.

This is my backpack.  It's great as you can see.  I can rapidly deploy and put it back on the back of the SUV or on on the ground.

The idea is to have the most reliable piece of equipment for getting what you need to get done.  If that crashes in the air you not only lose your drone but may have other problems as well.

Nice set up. Are you saying the batteries they sent you are fake?

"The fake batteries have wide pins, green, and one wasn't even built properly as the plastic wasn't put together right. "

One of the DJI Administrators might be able to check the serial numbers for you and verify if genuine.

I think they most likely would be genuine; as far as I remember in previous models the battery and system firmware were updated to check for, and not work with non genuine batteries.

Were you able to activate the new aircraft without any problems ?

I have no issues.  Everything powered up without issue.  I can see what you guys mean about thinking they aren't legit so I've reworded everything to prevent confusion.

I see you have amended your original post. But what is still a bit confusing is you say:-

"and one wasn't even built properly as the plastic wasn't put together right."

Which seems to suggest you have first hand knowledge of what a non-genuine battery looks like.

Either way, if you had any doubts at all, DJI Admin' should still be able to verify.

Yes, I have first-hand knowledge because when I ordered all the parts and the batteries were the first to come in.  My charger is an authentic DJI.  I took a picture of them way back but deleted it.

People are selling the batteries that look like the white DJI thumbnail but the inner parts in real-life are green.  Sure it could work but later probably not.  The pins are what scared me other than the fact one of the batteries wouldn't fit because it wasn't put together properly.

I'm saying the batteries I got for B&H are authentic real DJI but them confirming the serial would be cool but I think unnecessary.  They look like the one that came w/ the drone.  The green ones did not.

If you look all over the internet you will find fake batteries being sold because the actual ones are out of stock, discontinued, etc.  B&H says backorder so people might think they are gone forever.  Also, other batteries selling for $200+.  The Obsidian edition is $159 instead of $169 so I think they are worse.  I wanted that because it was 2017 so I don't get a 2016 battery.  The manufacturing date is important.  I want no problems when I'm in the air!!  I want to know where I'm going to shoot, it can do it and it can come back w/ No issues.

Yes, I never use third party batteries with any drone I've owned.

I thought 3rd party was the only way and I thought they are built better but examining the pins they weren't.

No mate - best not to go there. Always use DJI batteries. Your warranty is also void using third party batteries if the drone malfunctions in flight.

Yeah, I didn't even bother powering it on or fully inserting it.  I returned to Amazon and was thinking about returning the P4P because it cost so much and I might not get jobs but then I had a couple after swapping it with a perfect one.

Glad it's finally sorted - you certainly had a few hoops to jump through setting it all up

I am wondering if its just the batteries that DJI are struggling with re P4 stock, no batteries, no drone, would be very strange  for the battery supplier and the other drone part supplier to be both out of stock. Batteries are generally a specialised item and normally have their own manufacturer, make sense?

I think basically DJI is making people buy the out of stock items through 3rd party so if there are any problems they go through them instead of DJI.  The misconception is people may think discontinued means the only things they can buy are old items like from 2016 that have problems but with my items, they were manufactured as new as the Mavic 2 if not newer.  I think my fly more pack for the Mavic 2 was manufactured in 2018.  The fact the P4P batteries were manufactured in 2019 w/ the drone Discontinued is interesting.  I mean, they've discontinued in March 2019 but if everyone buys the batteries you can't get anymore..

Still though, by the time the batteries become an "issue" from being used too many times hopefully they make a better one.  I think the Mavic 2 flies more "stable" and better than the P4P V2.0 but the lack of a mechanical shutter and not using the full 1" is bad for pictures.
