Look at this!!! You try getting a reach like that with the P4PV2.0 under High turbulent 16mph+ winds.  I had to use the M2Z with OA off to get that close at 48mm!! 1st 3 images are Cropped.  The next 3 are from the camera.  3rd and 6th are from the P4PV2.0.  The last is the scene.  The adjuster didn't know where the leak was coming from so I got called.  The P4PV2.0 failed completely at locating the problem clearly because I could not get closer due to the winds pushing it towards the house.  The M2Z did it!!  48mm was max so pretty much is eq. to getting the M2 Enterprise non-Dual.  : )  The next setup is a Z30 but that drone setup cost $10k+.

I would never ever fly this close but the adjuster wanted it to be closer.  This is a real "real-world" skill test!

She was telling me how she couldn't get ways to see where the problem is up there.  Originally she thought it was on the roof but it wasn't.  When we got the M2Z up in the air with the 48mm we've identified the problem easily.  It's either that or the corner of the house.  With the P4P V2.0 it was hard to see, even in HD at 24mm.

Btw, the 48mm was zooming in so close she got scared the drone was in danger but I knew the drone wasn't really moving. lol

Yeah! I'm still working on the H.264/H.265 videos!  Just had to finish uploading for the job.  The M2Z is not garbage anymore in comparison!  The P4P V2.0 cannot even do it!

thx, didn't know the Mavic 2 Zoom could be of This much commercial use.  We could see all the lines on the sidings while in flight zoomed in!!  It was how I felt with the Z30 video.  This is remarkable technology!!  The fact the shot was that good and sharp, the drone was being tossed around like it was in a washing machine.

I wasn't too sure, is the maximum zoom in photo 48mm or 96?

I'm so proud of the Mavic 2 Zoom btw.  There isn't enough recognition for this tech!!

MAN!!  After I already got the Mavic 2 Pro, I started seeing the better applications of the Mavic 2 Zoom.  Though I'm not kicking myself (the Pro is fantastic so far), the Zoom is pretty impressive, especially for commercial use.

I didn't think it would matter but the adjuster needed someone to go up but the boro wouldn't allow anything so she called the drone people then the drone people picked me.

Do you have your Part 107?  I recently got it, but I haven't used it for any contracted/for hire jobs yet.

I bet the Mavis 2 Pro would compare, but the OP didn't test one so who knows.

You can't zoom with the Mavic 2 Pro.  I have a P4P V2.0 which takes better images than the Pro.  The Pro is better for colors of course but in sharpness the P4P V2.0 is better then 2nd M2Z then 3rd Air then 4th Pro.

You can zoom in a bit with the Mavic 2 Pro, just not as much as you can with the Zoom.  The Zoom is more sharp, being that the 2 Pro is more for cinematic.

But I think that is a digital zoom, not the same as Optical.

Look at the shipping yard around 4 minutes in this video.

Yeah, the optical zoom is usually more preferred.  I learned that years ago after I bought a sony video camera that boasted 200x digital zoom.  Once I saw how cruddy that digital zoom feature was, I quickly knew that digital was not the way to go.

I thought Optical zoom was good but the grain kind of sucks.  Put on a pair of binoculars and see the difference.  It's like having PRK laser eye surgery at 20/10 times 10.  With the technology we have today, at night, we can increase the shutter duration and aperture to see what is dark in real-life but looks day time in the feed.
