Has there been anything thoughts in regards to having the drone go into RTH mode when located in a restricted GEO Fence area as opposed to forced landing?  Would love to see an update of that nature eventually as that could ensure a safe return of the drone when it is in an area it shouldn't be.

Is this for the P4P+ or the version 2?

No, it is the P4, I upgraded mine a couple of hours ago. There was a problem a while back where the update of the 'flysafe' database tables grounded the P4 because the aircraft would not upload correctly. Because it was at odds with the version in the App'. Presumably this ties in with that somewhere to allow the P4 'flysafe' to be upgraded correctly.

Well, it says Phantom 4, it means Phantom 4, plain and simple English.

And if you knew anything at all about the aircraft you fly then you would realize this, also given that the RC firmware quoted (V1.9.3.0) is the build of the GL300C as used on the Phantom 4, and not that used by the Phantom 4 Pro (&V2), nor the Phantom 4 Advanced RC units.

Well, the fact they are even upgrading the first P4 must be a good sign.  The P4P V2.0 is far from garbage.  Discontinued is crazy.  The quality of the photos is better than the Mavic 2 Pro.  They probably realized the design of the M2 Pro camera being bad, saving lots of money by discontinuing the production and just selling the M2 Pro design as it has More profits.  In the end, the consumer and clients get screwed who don't know.  It makes me look better as I can provide Sharper images w/ no distortion. : )

P4P V2.0 pretty much is the best setup you can get unless you get the Inspire 2 with X5R or better but then the image quality is nearly the same.  The X7 is the best then cost $15k but not that out there.  Going from the Spark to an M2Z is out there.  Anything just takes Far too much work.  I can get up and running in pretty much no-time.

It seems like they are bringing it back.  It used to say Discontinued.

It never has for the V2.0, for the other versions/models yes, but not the V2.0 ;) not that i'd noticed and it would have been all over here too

Definitely gone, according to DJI they will be pushing out 'Air Sense' equipped quadcopters from next January, whether that has any bearing on the P4 series or not I do not know.

But given that the Mavic Enterprise has this functionality it would make sense to develop the Mavic series.

I see it as not so much an upgrade, but a fix they had to perform to allow their geo-fencing to work. There is no extra functionality mentioned.

We've had no notification yet re the P4P V2.0 being EOL, whats to say it cannot be retrofitted, by all accounts its just a small module, perhaps it will be the V3.0 or P5 ;)

That would be a good thing to have the drone do! I wonder if DJI would program that?

It would be great to remove geofencing in exchange for ADS-B. That way millions more drone owners who currently can't even start their motors because of being within 5-10 miles of an airport, will be able to actually USE their investments.
