Many thanks - yeah i was lucky, it was a perfect day (which hardly ever happens in Scotland) and a clear blue ocean.. perfect flying conditions.

Yes for sure cold, its not to far really from the southern part of the arctic circle so only braver people than me would swim there!

Aye,  well,  some other silly so-and-so's can do the swimming eh ?  I am with you there !  

This doesn't go anywhere near your shots Neilmacc,  however I sorta like the crocodile skin effect.  Pic taken in our local inlet in SW WA.
PS: I deliberately didn't use a polarising  filter.
