Someone posted, in another forum, that holding a TB48 battery button down for 5 seconds will yield estimated batterry life left. Never heard of this. True?

Yes, that's true, after 5 sec it will show the remaining life of battery.
Take a look in the inspire manual, page 22.

I does but it's not accurate by any means, I have 4 batteries all useless for flight, that show 3 and 4 lights 4 means at least 90% but the batteries are all shot with unbalanced cells, they might be able to hold current but not under the load of an Inspire. I'm moving them to Osmo duty, but I'm wondering if they are liable to explode handed on my waist
