I also usualy do like you described, but sensor are on, so drone makes stop before landing to the hand.

A week ago I got my Mavic 2, and I hand catched it from the first flight. I have always landed my Phantoms in the hand, and I thought it would be harder to hand catch the Mavic, but it was actually easier. I keep the sensors on, and as Daltair says, it makes a stop first, then land soft and nice in my right hand, then I stop the motors with my left hand. But I am careful, the propellers are closer to my arm than on the Phantom.

I used to hand catch my Mavic Air, as I would position myself and hand deliberately out of the way of the sensors.  I've never tried with the Mavic 2 Pro yet.  I'll try it out.

yes keep pushing down on the throttle and it will continue to decent into hand and it will shut off automatically. Works pretty sweet as you said

Much prefer to hover, grab it then kill the props.

I really dont like the idea of the drone descending towards any part of me if the floor, myself and/or drone is also moving around on an unstable surface.

No risk that obstacle avoidance sensors shift the drone when hand catching?
