I've a road trip planned for Thursday / Friday - 250 miles each way and a hotel booked for an early start - the weather is looking great too. Haven't flown for a couple of weeks, life has got in the way (a lot) so despite the grim weather here I decided a quick shake down flight would be good; a chance to check the settings, firmware, and update any "fly safe" database updates.
Didn't expect how much moisture was in the air, had a "downwards vision sensor" error which caused my Air to decend, easily corrected, but was surprised at just how soggy my Air was on landing! The front arms are wet; it's drying out, settings checked and sorted, so fingers crossed for Thursday and Friday.

This is the view from 40 metres up tonight.

Nice shot. I haven flown in fog without issues. I also have been flying and all of a sudden a downpour.
These birds are pretty stellar.

Thanks Woe, agree the Mavic is excellent.
Was just surprised a little by how much moisture was in the cloud.

Interesting bit of physics there ... high moisture level in the air due to current ambient air temperature, plus cooling effect of props downdraught = condensation around areas of maximum cooling .... notice the larger droplets nearest the motor root where the props are pulling the greatest body of air, and the 'exposed' (leading edges) around the front sensor ports where the aero dynamics are causing eddy points (slower moving air).

Awesome, thank you for the explanation...I did wonder what effect the props would have and why the camera lens remained unscathed!
