Has anybody tried to purchase batteries lately? I can't seem to locate them anywhere in stock. Very strange.

You can find them but you may have to search. I found two batteries a few weeks ago at a High-end Camera Store in Houston, TX. There was another store that had a few coming.

You can always try eBay and Amazon, just be sure the batteries are DJI and not some third-party knock-off.

On a related note, battery prices have really jumped recently. What used to cost ~$158.00 now costs ~$209.00   A jump of over 30%

On an unrelated note, is anybody else having an issue with battery charge level dropping  off  extremely quickly forcing an emergency landing. I was able to switch to A mode and get the drone home but it was very close. It went from about 48-50% charge to 27% which triggered the RTH mode.

They were out of stock a couple of weeks ago but they now show delivery by July 26
