We had 40 training fire in different rooms, the burning of the house helps new firefighter learn how fire builds and spreads in the building. I was one of a few that were lighting the fires in the house. This was great training for people, then at the end we let the house burn. It is great training for us and saves a bunch of money for the owner on demolition of the house.

I haven't had the opportunity to fly a live burn yet.  Did you find the bird was exposed to the heat at all?  Curious how the plastic would hold up as heat radiates from the structure.

I kept it a good distance away due to the intense heat, did not have any problems.

Glad you didn't fly through the smoke !  Thermals ? ........  Oh yeah !
