downgrading to gcu 1.4 worked!!! i am very happy. preview works - but:
zenmuse z15 also spiining a little bit in roll and pan axis after initialising - is it a result of unbalancing? or a firmware error again ?
i have GCU 1.4
IMU 1.6

a post I've put in several places on the web:
All, I'm having a nightmare. I posted last week about...upon flicking the shutter switch on 14SG the screen goes black on my BP. So to keep flying i can only record video and must turn video on manually before take off and ensure i don't flick the shutter switch or theres a black out.
When hooked up to the assistant, there were 2 updates:
1) IMU 1.8 to 1.12 about Auto calibration, which updated successfully (although now sometimes spins the camera around in a way not seen before)
2) CMU (camera multi unit) from v0.0 to v1.12 with notes describing a shutter problem conflicting with Aux 1, this sounds to me like the fix to the problem I'm having... but this one will not update??
Just constantly getting a pop up telling me the update has failed, please power cycle and try again, and again, and again!
Can anyone with GH3 and GH3 Zenmuse please check what versions your running to see if its the same as mine, or poss send me a version that works, or any other suggestions?

Mike, this is the upgrade for the GH4:
Auto-calibration Function from the current manual:
The auto-calibration function is new to the Z15-GH4 (HD) gimbal. The function is designed to help reduce vibrations that may be caused by gimbal sensor drift.
You can use the auto-calibration function when the following conditions are met:
1. The aircraft is on a flat, level surface.
2. The landing gear is parallel to the aircraft IMU.
3. The gimbal and aircraft initialization is complete and the gimbal is properly connected to the flight control system.
I dont know if this pertains to the GH3..I originally had problems with using the GH4 upgrades on my GH3 and if you scroll up a bit you'll see my issues. I would ping Support and see if you can use this upgrade for the GH3. Otherwise here is the link for the GH3 assistant: http://www.dji.com/product/zenmuse-z15-gh3/download If you want to downgrade to V1.4 just PM me and I'll forward the instructions.

Hi, could you check if the firmware are the latest, IMU1.12, GCU 2.4. These are the newest.

Are you sure? Gimbal IMU version is 1.12? Assistant says it is the last one.

After confirmation, the latest version is 1.12.  Is your problem resolved? If no, would appreciate you upload a video to show your problem. this would help me resolve the problem faster.

I am trying to confirm if this used Z15 gimbal for GH3 is working properly. When I connect it to my WKM with the can-bus cable, mount the GH3 camera with Olympus 12MM lens and then power it all up the gimbal simply spins out of control beating the hell out of my  GH3 camera.  The balance is perfect on all 3 axis but I cannot get past this spinning.  Is it necessary to have ALL of TX connections made from the TX to the gimbal's  GCU in order for the gimbal to settle in or is the Can-bus cable enough just for testing?  As I mentioned in a previous post I cannot get it to connect to my assistant software either in order to flash the gimbal or confirm the FW version.  I am assuming that this is because I have Windows 10 and the gimbal wants to see Windows 7 or 8 from what I have read (?).  Any thoughts on what I can do here?

you need it fully connected...additionally see what version your GCU is...if I remember right it wont function properly on any version over 1.4.

To clarify, are you able to connect the WKM to its Assistant Software successfully and not the gimbal?

Please help, same exact issues now I can not get the GCU to be seen as GH3 only sees it as a GH4.

I have not changed any software or firmware. It just went craz

If you have a GH3 gimbal then the GH4 assistant will not work..you need to get the GH 3 assistant and downgrade the GCU to version 1.4

The gimbal is on firmware 1.4. However, since the gimbal started spinning, whenever I connect to the GCU via USB I am not able to upgrade/downgrade the firmware. The assistant app lets me do changes to all the different settings, all except for the upgrade button, if I click upgrade button its just loading for a while and then it says failed.

Also now the last time I powered on the gimbal it doesnt initialize anymore, no more spinning or anything. It just moves a little the first second and then nothing. Its like its off, since there is no power in any motor. However there is video being transmitted since the green led is on under the gimbal and I am getting video to the monitor.

I am thinking maybe the firmware was corrupted? Is there a way to HARD reset the firmware like you can do with the DJI A2 by bridge A1 and A2?
