I understand I need to use a USB cable between the controller and the goggles on the Mavic Air. I have two questions. 1. Will I still be able to have my laptop connected and functioning via the Micro USB and 2 will the Mavic Air ever be able to use the goggles without the cable.

Hi, thanks for the inquiry. I would like to clarify where did you connect your laptop via Micro USB cable? The Mavic Air remote controller could only be connected to the DJI goggles via cable and it doesn't support wireless connection. Please keep us posted on the latest progress. No and No. You want wireless connection you need the Mavic Pro, Zoom or Mavic pro 2.

The original Mavic Pro will give you the best connection.
