Hi,

I am having trouble capturing photos. They don't save to the SD card or to the Phone connected. I believe my iPhone 6 S is up to date and so is the App. I can take the photo, but the screen goes blank then the DJI symbol comes up and no photo appears after that or gets saved. The drone still fly's ok and the connectivity is ok too.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The first thing to check if this happens is the SD card itself. Can you please say what card you are using?

Try using the card that came with the aircraft, if you are not already doing so. Copy any photos you want to keep off the card and then format the card in the aircraft itself, using the format routine in DGI Go under camera settings.

I have the original SD card in that is empty and still nothing. When I go to settings I can not get into camera settings as it is shaded out. Any thoughts?

Do you have the same issue with recording video?
Any issues with the display on your screen while flying around?

Yes same issue. I don't have any issues flying around only weak signal some times at max distance.

Have you tried clearing the photo and video cache in the app settings

That didn't do anything there was nothing to clear.

Next thing I would try is a different SD card. Odd that you cannot access the settings to do a format on the current card

I just tested mine out, and even without a SD card I can access all the settings (only the Format SD card option is greyed out).
Could you post a screenshot of your main screen

Can you describe how I would format it step by step.

For some reason I can't get the image to upload to this post. Thanks for your help I will continue to try and fix it.

Turn on the drone, load up the app like normal (no need to start the drone up, just powered on) press the button below the camera/video button on the screen (picture is of 3 slider bars), press the settings button at the top (on the right hand top corner, picture of cog), scroll to the bottom and the 'Format SD Card' option is there.

OK, the problem is more serious than a faulty SD card, you have a problem within the video processing system of the aircraft. Best to send it in to DJI for repair.

You beat me to it ....

The pointer to serious fault - is the greyed out menu .... which means that function is not 'talking to each other' ... it has a fault.

Did you manage to use a different mobile device to isolate the situation? For additional information, ensure that the files are saved and flight records were synced prior to delete the application. May I know which SD card do you use? You may backup all data and format the SD card, or change to another recommended SD card to verify.

That is about the best SD card you can buy. Try formatting it in the aircraft from the DJI Go app.

Just to verify, has the drone been involved with the crash or hard landing before? For the ESC error, I've sent the link in PM before, does it work? If still not, I'm afraid that you may start a case to send the unit in for diagnosis: https://www.dji.com/support

It might be the SD Card you are using but I am not sure why the phone is not recording either? Could still be the SD card?...

No, that card is about as fast as you can get. But my P3P will not save the low resolution copy to the device either if the main SD card in the aircraft does not record, or is absent.

You should do a reinstall of the DJI GO application and reload it back and perform the operation again t see if that works?

Looks like it has a manufactured date of 4/2018

The phantom 3 pro still works normally except for storing images on a memory card.
