I am looking to carry out a flight approximately 1km away the boundary of a Nuclear power station.

DJI's Geomap highlights this area 'Enhanced Warning Zone'. Can anyone confirm whether I am aloud to fly is this area without obtaining permission from the Nuclear plant? I do have permission from the land owner of where I will be taking off and landing.

I have been informed that there may be a 2 mile radius round Nuclear facilities that you can't fly drones, if this is true, does it apply to a DJI Mavic 2?
I can't seem to find anything regarding this law online?

I do understand that you can't fly directly over a Nuclear facility, but as previously stated, I will always be flying a minimum of 1km away from the plant.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

You might try and load "AirMap" to check for flight restrictions, NFZ and other NOTAR's in the area you are trying to fly..
I think you will find it a no fly zone. (or at least it should be).
Try this:
https://play.google.com/store/ap ... airmap&hl=en_US
Oh, and yes, it would apply to all drones/UAV's unless government operated with authority

DJI enforces some additional restrictions (eg. airport runways) so it's best to check in the DJI Go 4 app itself.

Tap the menu icon (top right), then tap Geo Zones, now position the map where you'll be flying and you should see all the restrictions in that area.

If you tap on the grey, blue, red, etc areas it should tell you type of restriction - Altitude, Authorization, Restricted, etc zone.

Hi, thanks for the inquiry. For clarification regarding the Enhanced Warning Zones. In these Zones, you will be prompted by GEO at the time of flight to unlock the zone using the same steps as in an Authorization Zone, but you do not require a verified account or an internet connection at the time of your flight. Therefore, you might encounter a prompt message when flying the drone in this particular location. Thank you for your support.

Drone Assist is a good source of information, zooming in can show additional hazards and detail:-

Yes, Drone Assist from NATS is what you need to use, and yes, all nuclear power stations, including those being decommissioned or built (like Bradwell) are strict no fly  zones.
