The evening's plan was:

1. Go pick up a couple things at Wal*Mart.
2. Have supper somewhere cool. Take your time.
3. Go on a drone adventure for the evening looking for something interesting to photograph.

I spent some time looking at Airmap and found if I went north on US 75, then West on US 166 that I'd find myself in the hill country AND Class G airspace. Anybody familiar with how US highways are numbered will know where I was going, but perhaps not the landscape I would find there.

So, I set out. Found the couple items I wanted at Wal*Mart. Then had a nice dinner, taking my time and drinking 2 glasses of ice tea. Ok, I must have been a bit dehydrated from the afternoon's activity. I got in my Liberty, ready to head north, and.....

For a successful flight, it is important to remember to bring your drone.

Oh well. It's still 97 degrees (36C). I'll go home and spend the evening in the air conditioning, perhaps watching Remote Pilot 101 lessons. Maybe I'll walk to my practice field later in the evening.

Hmm. Must be cooler at the airport. Here's what the METAR says

EEK the forum software says the METAR is "inappropriate material."

It is important to remember to have all your batteries charged and if filming, that you remember to load a working SD card into the slot.
