Hi everyone,
We're filming whales with scientists in the gulf of st-lawrence in Qubec (scar identifications on blue, fin, humpbacks). We're working with Inspire2 and X5s camera, recording DNG's on SSD drives and H265's on micro SD simultaneously.

I've noticed corresponding clips don't record exactly the same duration. Seems that after pressing "record", the drone will capture about 7-10 frames on micro SD then record on SSD. Recording also ends out of sync: SSD will have 5-6 more frames. I've tried at 23.976, 24 and 29.97 fps and results are the same. I'm importing in Adobe Premiere and all sequences match correct frame rates. Note that these clips are short in duration, so longer clips will potentially have larger time discrepencies.

Is this official then: recording simultaneously on SSD and micro SD will not give exactly the same clip? Usually not a big deal, but we're working with frame by frame to select best moments with whales (to minimize light ripples, reflections, etc).

Can anyone confirm this information? Many Thanks
Sharif
