Can I connect the base USB connection to my phone, as against the side connection?

Hi, thanks for the inquiry. We would recommend connecting your phone via the Smartphone adapter or wireless module as using the bottom port is not optimized to connect the phone via cable. Thank you for understanding.

Before the wireless finally made it to market, I always used the technique you describe. I had full control and never had any problems.

Weirdly then, my phone works better connected to the bottom USB port than the side port.  Less lag and a more stable connection. If you are using the Pocket with the extension rod how else can you connect the phone other than via wireless? It doesn't make sense unless the whole exercise is just to buy more DJI peripherals. Not impressed for something considered pocketable.
