Please know that I posses a license of the state of Bavaria and got local police approval for the flights.
Generally it is forbidden to fly in cities in Germany.

For the license itself you need to hand in at least the "Kenntnissnachweis" (small drone operating license) and then you can get the approval called "Allgemeinverfügung".
With that you can avoide certain regulations such as flying in cities, flying over streets or water. But you always need to contact the police first and they can give a veto.

All in all not difficult, just takes a bit more time to prepare.

Excellent. It's not often to see such video taken without any usual limitations.
But - there is still a big 'but'! We all know what are limitations for and it's no difference weather your flight is certificated or not.
It would be really nice if you can explain Which drone did you use and if you had a parachute on?
The video is really amazing and majority of people here can only dream about such shots (I mean legally taken).

Even in Berlin, your capitol city,where there is a ban zone around the "Reichstag" and other limitations, is no general nfz for drones!


And a very nice video. Stuff you won't get without permissions or breaking some rules. Well done!

You are correct, not generally forbidden in cities but it is forbidden to fly over privat areas (houses etc.) which makes it pretty hard to fly in cities.
