Given this compatibility doc (see chart towards bottom), It seems that many of the larger-lens setups in the SC would have good clearance if counterweights were employed, but I don't see any SC-specific DJI-branded counterweight systems. Does anyone know what the plans are here? Has anyone tried any of the 3rd-party counterweight sets (with something like a Sony A73 and 24-105 f/4)?

Hi mikeev261, we do not have official counterweight currently and no the third-party counterweight can be recommended, hope other users could give you some suggestion. We will update our online store if there is official counterweight to be released.

You had the Mavic 2 Pro. Why get the Mavic 2 Zoom? Wait, why get the Mavic when you have the Phantom? Just making a point here. I also had 3 different Phanom 3s, 2 identical versions of the Phantom 4, the Spark, and debated on getting the Inspire 2.


The OP likely has a use for the SC over the S, just as I and many others do. The SC weighs less and adds features the S does not have. Each gimbal meets different needs.

Sorry, man (I assume you're male). I feel your pain. I got rid of mine once the US decided we must take that damned test every 2 years if we intend to make money with our drones. Just wasn't that important to me at that point.

It's the "going back every 2 years" that broke the deal for me. Yes, a minor inconvenience, but still not worth the trouble to me.

Another trick is to use only one screw with the big plate on the small one and put the one screw on the closest hole from the lense. It gives more weight to the back ...

Do get one, the Ronin SC is an incredible bit of kit. But keep the Ronin S for larger set ups is my advice. We have both and wouldn't give up one for the other, they have both advantages and disadvantages.

Agreed! Keep the S for heavier setups.

Crap! I just ordered a different counterweight kit from another vendor. Might see if DJI offers just the brackets/plates from this though, as I already have the weights.
