What device did you end up getting, your sunshade is arriving so I'm guessing you've already got whatever your using.

I still haven't bought anything new yet, I bought the DJI tablet sunshade with a future ipad mini or shield in mind.  For now I use my 6S plus sometimes, and lately my kid's ipad mini 2 if I can pry it out of his hands

I've got both the Shield and the iPad 2 and prefer the Shield. I'd rather have 2 Phantoms than 2 tablets however

Nice,  What do you prefer specifically about the shield if you don't mind me asking?  I had to put my debate on hold while I dealt with a malfunctioning gimbal this weekend.  Fortunately I'm back up and running and now again ready to make a move on a tablet to dedicate to my P3P.

I keep forgetting to. Also I have a iPad Mini3 I've been trying to sell so in the meantime I've been using my Air and that.

You mean Air 2? the regular iPad 2 does not work with the GO app.

The Nvidia Shield has built in GPS and the iPad Mini 2 (Wi-Fi only) does not so you can use the "follow me" mode. Built in HDMI port for future use of VR (don't have to spend $100 for the HDMI port you can purchase through DJI. The Litchi app has all the features using an Android device vs. IOS devices. Plus, if your into gaming, I hear it's about the best out there and the DJI GO app works perfectly. Those are the reasons in a nutshell.

I stopped at Best Buy to pick one up so I can test the app and they didn't have any in the store
I used to have the non K model and liked it. I have the HDMI module so the HDMI isn't that big of a deal. BUT, I like that it can record.

Has anyone used a screen protector and anti-glare with the Nvidia Shied that helps in the sun light?

I've mentioned this in other posts but I have a Nvidia Shield K1 and purchased the Nushield anti-glare protector and it's fantastic. I don't use the DJI hood any longer because I don't need to.......plus the Nvidia is too wide for use in the DJI brand hood anyway

Yes, I forgot to mention the screen record too. It's a great little tablet and great if your a gamer too but I don't use it for that

I use the Samsung Pro 12.2 and it is AWESOME!!!

The downside of the K1 shield is the battery life also. Horrible. And the charging time is also ridiculously slow even on a good powerful high amperage rated charger outlet. And their version of android is very dumbed down. It makes sense because its mean to be a gaming console of sorts. But the Samsung ones will have more options for you to do settings.

I tried several other before settling on the Nvidia Sheild. I think it is great! One reason for my choosing this was the processor speed. Others I had tried seemed to have a lag in the video. The shield works best for me, and editing is not a problem either. It is hard to see in bright sunlight but I made a shade for it and it helps, but I agree with everyone else that it is difficult. I would imagine they are all hard to see in in the middle of the day. It is hard to have everything! I also agree the battery takes longer to charge, but it has never caused me a problem. I am one of those who always keep the RC, extra batteries and my tablet charged up when I know I am going to fly.

Try turning off the auto brightness and manually set the brightness. It worked for me.

Non glare screen protector and a sun shade made out of cardboard, as well as manual full brightness and not battery saving - all good on Shield K1

I have and it makes a huge difference....

I, too, use an anti-glare screen protector and a very nice sun shade I found on ebay.  They work quite well together....in direct sunlight, NOTHING is going to be great, but blocking the sun and glare help tremendously.

I have 2 tab s's  and I have the nvidia shield, The nvidia flows the video perfectly I do not like ...

The magnets in the Nvidia are easily removed. Just insert a very thin pry-bar  ( I used a very sharp pen knife) and pry the back off.  The magnets removed easily by inserting the same thin pry-bar (my pen knife)
But removing the magnets didn't seem to help any, if at all.  The latest upgrade was supposed to remedy the compass problem, but it didn't seem to work with mine, perhaps I shouldn't have removed the magnets, the update might only correct the problem if the magnets are in place.
I guess I'll pop off the back one of these days and replace them and see if that helps.

But then you have significantly reduced the perceived brightness. It seems counter intuitive.
