Wow - thanks for posting!

It’s a remarkable feat, for sure...

Curious, what sort of adventure awaits him next? ;-)

Must be a thirsty bugger that hoverboard, he had to stop to refuel halfway across the channel.

You gotta figure in the weight of the fuel too, opposed to overloading...

But yes, He failed the first time, due to a refuelling mistake. ;-)

I am guessing that his fuel is contained in that rather bulky backpack he strapped on. Did you notice, during the preparation for the flight, how the girl struggled to heft the backpack up onto the frame he took off from.

Yup, definitely, pretty certain we see her connect the fuel line as he prepares to fire up the engines.

It’s a clever system, that appears to be relatively compact, if a little heavy. I wonder how many litres he has onboard, at take off?

Perhaps someday, it could be electrically charged and flown. ;-)

He has five jets under the floor, each with 100 lbs maximum thrust. They are going to be using a lot of juice. Given that he usually is travelling at just over 100 mph, he should do the crossing in about 12 to 15 minutes if he could do in one hop, but he has to stop half way to change fuel bladders. The pity is that it was such a poor coverage, a feat like that really deserved a much better television coverage.

Yeah, I wonder if poor insurance had him recording most of this on his own, at personal expense?

Where was Guinness Book of Records?

Still, pretty incredible.

Have seen a couple of videos,  but they don't show the actual touchdown.  I'd be real interested to see it.

he didn't have a Precision Landing feature in his App... and landed in the water instead of on the tanker...

he has huge "financial help" from the French Military. remember that his first official flight was at the Bastille Day Parade. I posted it  here (the rather long parade, where it can be seen)  https://forum.dji.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=193626

70 to 80 liters of fuel, I have read somewhere, in his backpack. - But ist seems too much to me, so probably my memory is playing tricks on me...

Kero runs about 0.8 kg per litre.  = about 3 kgs per (US) gallon
Still a lot of weight on yer back.
say 70 ltrs kero = 56 kgs  - His flight performance must change dramatically from full tank to empty eh ?
