Hello, today I wanted to test the RTH when no signal. Finally, when the drone said no signal RTH was initiated and automatically got back in my range. I watched the logs earlier and in the way home, it said Return to home operation timeout. Should I be worried about anything? (i had 17 satellites connected). Thanks.

I can not be sure, but in case of loosing connection, the RTH is initiated because of no connection for a specific time period. So I would assume that this is just the description, why it did RTH.

The other way round, if it was a "real no connection" from RC to Spark, that the App did not get the confirmation "in time", perhaps?
I think that is a bit difficult, without DJI is telling something to it.
I know "operation timeouts" from Panos in high wind conditions.
Every now and then, the Spark can't do the next picture and is stopping to take pictures.

But that is, when the app gets a feedback from the bird "can not".
But in a "no RC connection" RTH there is no feedback possible, b/c no connection till back in range.

Mystical

But you could link the flight record upload to this topic.
I'm sure there is more info to find, if some of the flight record gurus can analyse it!

Yea but why operation timeout?

When a RTH is initiated but the drone fights the wind to go home (so distance remains the same) a "operation timeout" error can be seen, if i do remember right.

If you upload your flightlog, explanation is in there.

Hiya Adi,

Nothing to do with wind , your Spark peformed a good RTH ; from 569 meters back to 59 meters where you cancelled the RTH.

After a connection loss your SPARK went into RTH, but in that mode another connection loss of 10.3 secs. When connected again the warning "Return to Home__Operation Timeout" was there.

IMO guessing that this warning has something to do with that comms loss in RTH procedure.

cheers

Thank you, so I shouldn't be worried about anything then.
