Background
I'm currently developing an Android app using the DJI Mobile SDK.
That app relies on Android WebViews to access a memory intensive web application (can be done while in flight).
The Problem
The DJI CrystalSky is currently using an old version of the AOSP browser.
Attempts in rectifiying this so far:
- Install Google Chrome
- Disable the default Browser
- Install latest version of Android WebView
- Disable pre-installed WebView
All these end up using the default Browser to render WebViews which can't handle a lot of basic HTML elements.
The Question (finally)
Has anyone found a way to either use different rendering engines in WebViews or get the CrystalSky to utilise a different rendering engine for WebViews?
I.e.: replace the default browser?
ChromeCustomTabs:
- Yes I tried them.
- They are not suitable in my case as the custom tab can close the main application (memory intensive web app).
