The first thing that comes into your mind when you hear this little word “DJI” is definitely the ultimate leader in aerial devices,
don’t forget their gimbals. RC ground vehicles have not been touched by DJI, but this is about to change.
And boy the Robomaster is going to revolutionize RC robots just like their drones changed the game.

DJI, as we got used to it, surprises us with their innovative thinking and devices in the least expected moments. The announcement of the
Robomaster S1 came just as fast as its official launch. I bet a lot of people have been waiting for a new line-up of the Spark & Air series.
To be honest, right now all of them are still pretty competent devices and we still have options to choose depending on our needs.

Long story short we got something unique to play with. The Robomaster S1 is not just for fun it’s also a great device for educational purposes.
Without denial, programming is not only the present but also the future.
In this thread, I’m going to focus on the assembly part of the Robomaster. Just for you to make an idea what you can expect if you decide to buy this
awesome device. I’m going to present all of its features in upcoming threads.

I guess a lot of us have few or very little experience in assembling electronics. Thanks to DJI we got products that could be used right out of the box, so the Robomaster S1 is in a totally different league. I really would like to get into drone-racing and building quads, still waiting for DJI to come out with a racing drone... but to be sincere assembling - disassembling is just not my thing. Yes, Robomaster comes in pieces…which is not necessarily a bad thing. If my wife and uncle managed to assemble it and make it work, means that it’s super easy "I had to film and take pics of the process". Assembly time may vary but we managed to get it assembled in 2 hours.

When I first got the package and carried it home, I had a very familiar feeling. The box is pretty similar to the original Ronin-M gimbals package.
Let me show what’s in the box! Well, there’s a lot! And if you ever doubted if your money was well spent or not, let me assure you that you get 3,5kg quality parts for your money.

There’s so much info I don’t really know where to start. I’ll also include some tech specs that can also be easily understood.
I like to inspect all parts to make a general idea about what is what etc.

You get a box with all the screws in it! There are a total of 8 different types of screws. We also get some extras which is nice!

Assembly is pretty easy and straightforward. You just need to screw the different parts so no soldering or gluing is necessary!
There’s also a guide you need to follow. Just to have a general idea there are 75 steps you need to do to finalize the assembly process!
