Mostly a travel day, but we did get to our hotel/apartment in time to go to the beach, swim in the ocean, enjoy the sunset, and check out the pool before we went to bed early.

My fiancee and I are planning on a honeymoon to O'ahu (or a different island if I get good suggestions!) in September. I am hoping for tips on where to camp out. We love the outdoors and it would be a lovely cheap alternative. I have heard some negativity to camping in parts of all of the islands, so would prefer tips and ideas for camping sites I do want to be safe, however. That is very important to me.

So I'm all for camping, but I would not camp in Oahu. All the people in tents we saw were obviously homeless. There are areas of the beaches that are packed together with tents, garbage, cars on blocks, etc.
MAYBE, there is a place that will rent you an RV. I actually would consider that, plus you're mobile and can park/camp anywhere. That would be nice.
We stayed in Makaha Valley Towers which was much cheaper than popular hotel zones. We booked through hotels.com but it was also available through AirBnB. There were other AirBnBs that were pretty cheap also. Might be worth a look.
BTW, we loved Oahu and there was so much to do.
