but hey, maybe its a project to fix now, you can get replacement parts fairly easily on ebay.

maybe lucky and the mainboard mostly intact thanks to conformal thick coatings and the silastic and hot snot on the soldered on wiring..  cameras have a 50/50 chance of surviving it is possible that no water got into the lens and sensors (i have pulled cameras from drowned phones that still fully intact as an example) ..  the shell and props is intact looks like.  the GPS will likely be fine

the rest is probably toast, fairly minimal chance that other stuff survived its dip in the drink after 6 months but still...

Good boil wash she will clean up very well, be flying in no time lol, great job in rescuing the drone and for all your innovations, I presume no care refresh if you had that would be the icing on the cake. Great video .

Nice job!  Even though it may not work, it's the principle.  Mount her in a box frame.  "No drone left behind!"  

One day I need to borrow or rent one of those RC subs with a grappling hook.  I have a Mavic Pro that's been in the Baltimore harbor for about 2.5 years.  I know where it is but she's about 30' down.

Sure I will frame it!!No one or no drone left behind!

Yes it is still under warranty for 3 more weeks. It´s already been handled by sending in the data logs for analysis so now I have a new drone, and a lot of  sludgy spare parts Chassis, arms, propellers, gimbal and camera are ok. Rest of the electronics like boards, motors and such are toast.

No harm in it mate as long as you make it crystal clear about the condition etc in the description and adjust the price (massively) accordingly - may be hard to sell but better than just sitting in a closet.

First vid is odd, it just seems to pitch down towards the water all of a sudden like it was hit by something, but it didn't appear to be really near anything.

I admire your ingenuity, but all that for a piece of now junk?

Worth it if he can get it replaced assuming it was a drone fault.

I couldn't use sound, so didn't catch if it was said or not - but why not just dive in and get it the second it happened?  It'd take a lot to stop me from doing exactly that.

It was in the winter sub zero and so on. Better wait until it´s junk

I'm very sorry to have read that you lost your AC.  But I'm happy you recovered your flotsam (jetsam??) . I have been given many batteries, chargers & controllers that new flyers lost their AC, and gave up continuing the hobby/profession/sport.

Yeah lot of hard work and thanks to my mate the Inventor we succeed!

This whole ordeal made me look into submersible drones.  I saw a good one for right under $3,000.

Very interesting story. Thank you for sharing it with us. Glad you got your Mavic back.

You might want to try putting the mavic in a bag of rice and wipe camera lense before future use....

Im sure you could save that ND filter.
