Hi everyone,

I currently own the Sony A7iii with the DJI Ronin SC. With the base plate the SC comes with, I'm not sure what's compatible and how certain things work together when switching from a tripod to the gimbal. What set up do you guys have? If you can tell me the exact arca swiss plate you have or manfrotto plate, whatever you have please let me know. I want the best quick switch from tripod to gimbal set up.

I am in the same boat. Would love to find a compatible quick release receiver I could use for this purpose.

After taking a closer look, it looks like the RC dovetail plate is similar or exacting Arca plates dimensions.  Below, I identified several Arca type bases that may solve the issue.  The SmallRig 2143 may be the better choice as it provides both, 1/4"-10 and 3/8"-16 threads for a more secure assembly.  Will test this week.

Yes, just received the three different plates.  they all work great.  The Ronin-SC dovetail is an ARCA-SWISS standard plate.

Cheers,

hey do the first 2 also sit flush? As in does the tightening know come down lower than the most bottom part of the actual bracket? I need something that the knob doesnt extend further down than the baseplate. Hope that makes sense.

Which of the three are your favorite? Is the smallrig one worth the 3x cost?

I've got a RRS bullhead I use: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1301051-REG/really_right_stuff_bh_55_lr_bh_55_ballhead_with_full_size.html/qa

I'd love for the SC plate to work in both the SC and in the quick release plate on my ballhead.

You guys think it will work?
